COMMERCIAL & INDUSTRIAL SOLAR

Commercial & industrial solar EPC in West Bengal

Rooftop solar for commercial buildings and industrial facilities across West Bengal, planned around your operations and energy use.

POWER YOUR OPERATIONS

Turn daytime demand into an opportunity.

Businesses with substantial daytime electricity use can align solar generation with their operating demand. We assess your usage profile and tariff alongside the available roof to develop a suitable system, rather than recommending capacity from roof size alone.

Our scope can include engineering, component procurement, installation, testing and commissioning for offices, shops, warehouses, educational premises and industrial facilities. Electrical integration and installation scheduling are planned around site requirements.

Discuss your commercial project

On-grid solar

Generate electricity for daytime use, with grid interaction under the approved metering arrangement. Standard on-grid systems do not provide outage backup.

Hybrid & off-grid

Explore battery-supported designs where backup or independent supply is required. Storage is selected from loads, usage hours and required autonomy.

Considered components

Modules, inverters, mounting structures, cables and protection are selected as a compatible system, with final specifications in your proposal.

HOW WE WORK

A clear path to solar.

01

Review your energy profile

We review bills, operating hours, daytime consumption and electrical demand to understand where solar may add value.

02

Assess the site & design

Roof condition, structural suitability, shade, cable routes and electrical integration inform the proposed capacity and layout.

03

Agree the scope & execute

Review the component specifications, responsibilities and programme before procurement and installation are coordinated.

04

Commission & support

System checks, DISCOM coordination where applicable, handover documentation and agreed maintenance complete the process.

Support with the steps around installation.

We assist with net metering, DISCOM approvals and applicable policy or subsidy processes. Requirements vary by connection, project and scheme; eligibility is reviewed before commitments are made, with registered-vendor coordination where required.

Plan your timeline

The overall process typically takes around 6–10 weeks, depending on project scope, site readiness and approvals. Smaller projects may be completed sooner; larger C&I projects can require a longer programme.

ONGOING SYSTEM CARE

Professional maintenance.
Practical pricing.

Our Annual Maintenance Contracts provide planned care at reasonable, project-specific pricing. An agreed schedule helps keep attention on your system beyond installation.

  • Module cleaning using appropriate methods.
  • Routine visual and electrical checkups by competent personnel.
  • Generation and inverter-status reviews.
  • System assistance and fault coordination within the agreed scope.

Visit frequency, access arrangements, response support and charges are set out in your AMC proposal. Replacement parts and additional corrective work are quoted separately unless expressly included.

ENGINEERING BEFORE CAPACITY

Commercial solar designed around your operating hours

For a shop, office, warehouse or factory, the key question is how much solar energy the business can use when it is generated. Two sites with the same monthly bill can need different designs if one operates mainly during daylight and the other runs at night. Weekend shutdowns, seasonal production and planned expansion should be part of the assessment.

Alif Enterprises is based in Kolkata and serves projects across West Bengal. Share recent bills, operating hours and available load information so that we can discuss a system suited to your premises, rather than assume that covering the entire roof is the right answer.

Energy and tariff review

Separate consumption-linked charges from demand, fixed and other charges. Review interval data where available. Model self-consumption and exported generation independently; do not value every solar unit at the full average bill rate.

Roof and electrical assessment

Roof condition, structural capacity, shading, wind exposure, access and safe maintenance routes need review. Cable paths, inverter location, earthing, protection and the connection point must be agreed before procurement.

Operational coordination

Discuss working hours, permitted shutdowns, lifting access and contractor safety requirements. Installation sequencing should account for business continuity and the responsibilities of each party.

Evaluate commercial solar cost and payback transparently

A decision-ready estimate states its generation assumptions, daytime self-consumption share, export treatment and applicable tariff. It also allows for maintenance, insurance where relevant, financing and future equipment replacements. A simple payback calculation is a screening tool, not a guaranteed return.

Use our commercial solar payback guide to see a worked example and the assumptions that matter. Do not apply residential subsidy assumptions to a commercial project. Scheme eligibility, taxes and financial treatment should be checked for the specific customer and project.

The solar calculator can help start a conversation, but it is not a substitute for a commercial energy assessment. A project proposal should include a site-specific model and a clear breakdown of scope, exclusions and approval responsibilities.

From proposal to commissioning: agree the deliverables

  • Proposed DC array capacity and AC inverter capacity, with a roof layout and equipment schedule.
  • Mounting and electrical design responsibilities, safety requirements and site access arrangements.
  • Agreed brands, model specifications, protection, monitoring and warranty documentation.
  • DISCOM coordination scope, customer documents, fees and third-party responsibilities.
  • Installation programme, payment milestones, testing and handover records.
  • Maintenance scope, exclusions, contact arrangements and any separately priced corrective work.

Approvals and timelines are project-dependent. We do not represent a connection approval, export arrangement or financial outcome as automatic.

Commercial and industrial solar questions

Does a larger rooftop always justify a larger system?

No. Consumption timing, export terms, sanctioned load, roof suitability and budget can limit the useful size. The final design should balance these factors, not simply maximise panel count.

Can solar supply all machinery during a power cut?

Not with a standard on-grid installation. Backup for industrial loads needs a separate design addressing inverter capability, starting loads, storage, isolation and other generation equipment. Tell us which loads are critical before sizing backup.

What should I share for an initial proposal?

Provide electricity bills, operating hours, location, approximate roof details and any available consumption profile. Include major planned load changes and shutdown constraints. We will identify the additional information needed for a site assessment.
